TECHBARRIER-S

    TECHBARRIER-S is SiOx vacuum coated film, which is alternative to 7 or 9 micron Aluminum foil in terms of both oxygen and water vapor barrier. TECHBARRIER-S, however, has OPVA (Polyvinylalcohol) base film so that the gas barrierability depends on the structure of lamination and the condition how to be used. Please note that SiOx layer must face to wetter part, in other words, OPVA must face to drier part.
1, When packing dry materials (foods).

1) SiOx layer must face outer.
2) Laminating a plastic film on SiOx layer in order to protect. The appropriate films are OPP, OPET. The higher humid barrier material, the better.
3) Don't laminate OPA film on SiOx layer because the barrier property would be deteriorated when it exposed humid atmosphere.
4) Recommendable structures are as follows.
  OPP / SiOx-TECHBARRIER-S / Sealant / (inside, dry material)
  OPET / SiOx-TECHBARRIER-S / Sealant / (inside, dry material)

2, When packing wet materials (foods).

1) SiOx layer must face inner.
2) OPVA, the base film of TECHBARRIER-S, easily absorbs humidity. Laminate a plastic film on non-SiOx layer.
3) Recommendable structure is as follows.
  OPET / TECHBARRIER-S-SiOx / Sealant / (inside, wet material)

3, Please find Table 1 and 2 that show the effect of structure on gas barrier property.
